The river

It's what guests write about more than anything else.

A quiet, clear pool nestled in the woodland a minute's walk from either door, deep enough to swim, with the old bridge downstream and a kingfisher if you're lucky. Early, late, or between showers.

Dyfi Bike Park and beyond

Dyfi Bike Park is next door, and there are mountain bike trails all around. The road riding is just as good — coastal and mountain routes as beautiful, or as brutal, as you want.

Ten minutes

Eryri (Snowdonia)

The southern edge of the National Park is a ten-minute drive; Cadair Idris and the Dyfi estuary a little further.

Car-free

Come by train

Machynlleth station is a fifteen-minute walk, on the Cambrian line from Shrewsbury and Birmingham. Plenty of guests arrive without a car.
